Bolinas / Point Reyes 2009

I had the opportunity to re-visit Bolinas and Point Reyes recently, and this time with a new lens (Sigma 150-500mm telephoto zoom). This slideshow is a mixture of both landscape and wildlife. I was fortunate to arrive between storms, so the weather was incredibly good for photographs. In and Around Talent (Oregon)

A collection of Fall and Spring photos taken in and around Talent, Oregon (just 4 miles north of Ashland). This is a small community - mostly rural - and very lovely. The photo gallery is roughly divided in half between Fall photos and Spring photos.

Bolinas is one of my favorite places in the world - partly for it's beauty - but also because it's just a wonderful place full of character and great memories (I spent a lot of my childhood here). This collection was taken late December 2008 (just after Christmas) and portrays a variety of scenes (landscape / wildlife) in and around the area. In the distance for some photos you'll see the city San Francisco on the horizon. All photos were taken with the Canon 5D Mark II.

This is a varied collection of photos taken in mid-December when we received a very cold (for this region) blast of Artic air. Mostly taken in and around the Talent and Ashland areas, the gallery shows some of the unique landscape images that were formed as a result of this unusual weather. Of special interest is that all of these images were taken with the new Canon 5D Mark II camera.

Fall_Colors in Southern Oregon

This gallery is a wonderful selection from three primary locations... Lithia Park in Ashland (which is a photographer's dream in the Fall), Crater Lake (which I happened to hit on a perfectly still, calm day - no wind on the lake), and the amazingly beautiful Umpqua River. A few extra photos added in from other Oregon locations that carry forward the Fall Theme.

This collection of photos taken in Northern California in 2008... my last year living in the Placerville area before moving up to Oregon. There are some terrific photos in here from the Sacramento Wildlife Refuge, Coloma, Placerville, Burney Falls, and several other locations.
